Reticulated Floral Plate #5

This is a great reticulated floral plate made by KPM in the late 18th century. KPM used no painters mark like the red orb yet during this period thus you only have the blue scepter and impressed marks most of the time. The plate is hand painted with a nice floral arrangement in the center that is very typical for them as well as three smaller single flowers along the edge. The rim has a nicely reticulated design highlighted with a turquoise trim with raised dots along the edge that are gilded and a bit more gilding to the other side of the rim towards the well. The plate is in great condition with just two small paint flakes to the green in the center that was colored in to hide them perfectly. Something with the green color was an issue for all makers during this time. It often flaked - not sure why. The piece displays perfectly! The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 9.375 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter with a blue line above it as well as the usual impressed number as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
