Rocaille Tea Caddy

This is a tea caddy / jar with its lid made by KPM around 1800. I have seen this design called Rocaille and more commonly Reliefzierat. It was left in the white which was more appreciated back then but is decorated in relief with a trellise design that has vines with leaves growing up them and a floral design in a cartouche to the top front and back surrounded by scroll work. Nice design to the lid with a floral finial with stem and leaves. It's a great looking piece and not something I ahve come across from this period but you can find the newer versions quite easily. The caddy and lid are in superb condition with no real issues I can find. Maybe a tiny chip to the finial and a few minor firing faults common to these early pieces but no real damage. It displays perfectly! The piece is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter mark as shown as well as the usual impressed numbers and lines. The tea jar is 5.375 inches tall with the lid in place, 2.875 inches wide and 1.875 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $499
