Biedermeier Scenic Cup & Saucer

This is a really nice cup and saucer made by KPM in the early 19th century during the Biedermeier period. It was made before they used their red orb mark thus you only have the blue scepter and impressed marks / painter's marks most of the time. The style of the cup is really very sleek with that destinctive handle shape from this period. Both pieces are hand painted with a turquoise ground color and gold leaf and berry garland trim but the best part is that superb scene to the front of the cup of a lady making some offerings with a fire on top of a column. Really well done and together with the nice shape make this a superb set! Both pieces are in great condition with just some wear to the gilding of the saucer mostly. The cup is just under 3.25 inches tall including the handle and 2.875 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. Both pieces are marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter mark as well as a painter's marks on the cup and some impressed numbers to both pieces. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
