Art Nouveau Lady Figurine

This is a superb figurine made by KPM in the early 20th century. It was designed by Karl Himmelstoss in 1909 and is from this original period. This designer is quite famous and also did work for Rosenthal, etc. Not a model you find often at all. The figure is of a lady dressed in traditional clothes of Westfalen. Westphalia is a region in the western part of Germany bordering Belgium and the Netherlands. She is superbly modelled and hand painted in the Art Nouveau or Jugendstil style of the period using the rare under glaze colors. Lots of details to the porcelain itself and the painted parts. The lady is holding up the apron of her dress with the left hand and has a basket filled with roses in her right hand. A head covering held on by a large bow around her neck with a necklace over that. The figurine is in superb condition! No restorations, chips, etc. She is quite large being about 10.25 inches tall, 4 inches wide and 3.375 inches deep. The figure is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter (first choice), the red orb, some black numbers as well as the usual impressed numbers as shown in the pictures. The back of the base has 1909 K. HIMMELSTOSS impressed into it. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
