Amazing Kuznetzov Cup & Saucer

This is an amazing cup and saucer made by Kuznetsov in the late 19th century. Not sure if this would be referred to as Gothic influenced like the famous Gothic Service of the Imperial factory at St. Petersburg or more meant to simulate cloisonné enameling but I would call is more faux cloisonne and a design heavily influenced by Russian styles. Either way the set is superbly hand painted with a design including fancy gilding along the edges including the inside edge of the cup and the cup handle. The outside of the cup and inside of the saucer have a superb design of red, green and white enamel with gold surrounding on white ground and these amazing silver designs on a nice blue ground color. This gold ring around the well of the cup. The enamel colors are superb and I have never seen more amazing silver designs on any porcelain. So much raised detail to them. Truly a stunning set and one of the nicest I ahve come across by this maker! Both pieces are in great condition - no issues at all on the cup and I found three tiny spots on the saucer's silver decoration where it msut have flakes and was colored in with silver so it displays perfectly. Both are marked with their gold eagle holding a scepter and orb with the Russian name underneath that. I think the gold mark was only used on their top end products and this certainly falls into that category!! A black 0.1. on the cup and some sort of impressed mark under the saucer a single number or letter can't quite make it out. The saucer is 5.5 inches in diameter and just over 0.875 inches tall. The cup is 2.25 inches tall and has a diameter of 3.125 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures. kuznetsoff kusnetzoff
