La Courtille Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by Rue de la Fontaine-au-Roi also known as La Courtille around 1800. The set is superbly decorated with a handpainted landscape scene with a gold ring around it in the saucer well and a man in a landscape scene with a house in the background on the front of the cup. Gold trim to top edges and handle. This set is in perfect condition with some black firing flaws and minute wear of the gilding. Both are marked underneath with the crossed torches in underglaze blue. The cup is 2.375 inches tall and 3.125 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.125 inches in diameter.
