Pair of Lawley Vases

This is a Lawleys Stoke Norfolk Pair of Chinese gourd vases. A pair of lovely Chinese-style double gourd vases with a speckled decoration in light pink. There was a lot of interest in the early 20th century in recovering the lost glazes of the Chinese Sung Dynasty, and the result was a revival of Chinese forms and some wonderful glaze experimentation by studio potters such as Charles Vyse and others. Bernard Moore is thought to have decorated vases with this shape from Lawleys. This pair is fully signed and has no damage. They stand 9 inches tall. One vase has some faint glaze lines, and there is also a stain (oxidation in the glaze?) on the underside of one. No chips, damage or repairs. This is a piece owned by a good friend of mine. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $99
