Limbach Meissen Copy Cup

This is a great cup made by Limbach around 1780. It is hand painted with a nice floral arrangement to one side and two small single flowers to the other and has a nice relief design to the rim. Another little flower to the bottom inside as shown. The cup is in good condition with an old small repair to a chip on the top edge as shown. What makes this piece rather interesting is the blatant use of the Meissen crossed swords from the Marcolini period. I know imitation is the greatest form of flattery but come on :) Also an incised line near the foot ring. A nice cup that is a superb example of yet another maker that tried to sell their wares as Meissen ones. The cup is 1.875 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter.
