Limbach Puce Scenic Cup & Saucer #2

This is a great cup and saucer set made by Limbach around 1780. Limbach was founded in 1762 and made porcelain until about 1850. Both pieces have a hand painted scene in puce of a couple of buildings uncluding a church in a nice landscape surrounding with three little leaves filling in the rest of the space. Both scenes include the same buildings which is neat except that the surrounding wall is smaller in the design of the saucer. They are both in superb condition as shown. The saucer is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed L mark meant to imitate the Meissen crossed swords mark while the cup is unmarked. The cup is 1.875 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall and 5.5 inches in diameter. A great set by one of the nicer smaller makers! Please e-mail me for more information or photos.
