Limbach Strawflower Cup & Saucer

This is a porcelain cup and saucer made by Limbach of Germany around 1780. The set is handpainted with the famous strawflower design or Strohblumen Muster that many people somehow mistake for blue onion :) This was a popular design back in the day since it was all under glaze and did not wear like overglaze pieces. It also has the ribbed design to the paste which is very common to all the Thuringia area makers. They are both marked underneath with the double L with a star mark meant to look like the Meissen mark of the period. The saucer is in great condition but the cup has a dual hairline to the side starting out at the same point on the rim and going down shaped like an A. They are stable and hard to spot. The cup is 1.75 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $149
