Superb Harbor Scene Vase

This is a great little vase made in France - probably in the Limoges area - in the mid 19th century. It is superbly hand painted with a harbor / merchant scene that goes all around with lots of nice detail - there is a volcano in the background, a ruin with people walking around it as well as an insland with a lighthouse type building on it. Underneath the scene there is a gold trim and under that a nice orange leaf design. Gold trim to the very top and the vase sits on three nice little balls as feet which is a nice touch. One of the nicest quality piece I ahve seen from this area in quite a while. Very much reminiscent of early Doccia (which it was sold for by the seller I bought it from - but very obviously is not). The quality is superb and the vase is in great condition with one foot having been off and reattched perfectly. The piece is only marked with some incised letters that are very hard to see. The vase is 4.5 inches tall and 3.125 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
