Limoges Nude Ladies Vase

This is a a really nice vase made in Limoges in the early 20th century. The blank was made by Bernardaud & Cie which was founded in 1905 and is still around today. It was decorated by Essie Boovier in 1939. The vase is hand painted after a painting by Hans Makart who painted the original between 172 and 1879. It was a study in the nude , showing five different views of his ideal female human form. You can look it up online - it's a really nice painting! Mrs Boovier was known to copy painting and hand paint them on porcelain which is the case here. There are five scenes to the outside, each for one of the senses. There is smelling, seeing, hearing, touching and tasting. Each represented by a nude lady showing that sense in action in a lnice greenery background. A bit of gold trim separates the scenes from each other and the top and bottom of the vase has a textured gold design to it. Two of the scenes are signed by the artist - E. Boovier as shown. The vase is marked underneath B &Co Limoges France and Mrs. Boovier signed it with her name, the year 1939 as well as who she took the painting from and what it shows. She did misspell the original artist's name! The piece is in great condition - no issues at all. The piece is 14 inches tall with a diameter of 5 inches. If you like nude ladies this is your piece! I found a picture of the artist online and if you look in the background in the right corner you see a vase like this. No idea if it is this piece but certainly one like it.
