Liverpool Floral Teapot

This is a Liverpool porcelain spherical teapot painted with a flower bouquet, c. 1765. Liverpool porcelain is normally not marked, but this attractive teapot probably comes from either the Chaffers or Christian Factory. The shape is very well designed and the perfect place for a bouquet of English flowers. Unfortunately, the handle is reglued with a small chip missing, and there is a hairline rising about one-third of the way from the base on one side, which has been disguised on the outside by repainting (probably more paint than necessary). The decoration has suffered a few nibbles, and the spout has a not-very-well repaired chip. This is a piece owned by a good friend of mine. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $349
