La Courtille Amazing Scenic Plate

This is a superb plate made by Rue de la Fontaine au Roi also known as La Courtille or Locre in the late 18th century. It is probably the nicest plate I have ever owned by them and definitely as nice as they come. The piece has a hand painted scene filling up the entire center of a lady carving the words pensez a moi (I believe it means remember me) into a tree. Nice landscape background and the lady is just superb in her white gown with a pink scarf. Does not get any better than this. The rim has a fancy gold trim to it with each medallion having a different design to the gold as I tried to show. The amount of work that went into that must ahve been incredilbe! This plate is in superb condition with some use marks to the gilding but no wear that shown any white through it (except a tiny spot on the bottom part of the scene) so it displays perfectly! The plate is marked underneath with the crossed arrows in under glaze blue as shown as well as the usual incised marks. The plate is 1.125 inches tall and 9.25 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
