Locre Nice Teapot

This is a really nice tea pot made by Rue de la Fontaine au Roi also known as La Courtille or Locre in the late 18th century . It is hand painted in the typical Paris style but that maroon ground color in combination with some nice designs and gilding is just superb. Each side has a face on it surrounded by a tooled gold trim with designs to either side, there are two more small designs next to the spout and the lid has two small ones as well. Lots of gold trim and the handle top terminal and spout have a nice animal design to them. All in all a really nice teapot . The piece is in great condition with almost no use marks or wear. The ponts on the inside of the lid that hold it in place have a little damage to them and there is a very minor chip to the inside edge of the pot that is not obvious and hidden completely when the lid is in place! There is a spot on the gilding along the top shoulder that is brighter than the rest like some sort of fluid ran over it and cleaned the patina off a touch or something protected it from forming the same patina. No idea what but it's not wear and was not polished. It's in the back when the handle is on the right side and does not affect the display. The piece is marked underneath which doesn't happen all that often. It has their under glaze blue crossed arrows as shown. The piece is 7.125 inches tall including the handle, 7.75 inches from handle to spout and 4.75 inches in diameter. A really nice looking piece!
