La Courtille Locre Superb Scenic Cup & Saucer

This is a superb plate made by Rue de la Fontaine au Roi also known as La Courtille or Locre in the late 18th century. It is one of the nicest cups I have seen by them! Both the cup and the saucer are handpainted with scenes in lback including buildings and trees with the space in between the scenes having a really nice gold trim some of which has designs in the gilding. There is also this red trim with raised white eneamels on top - porbably Limoges enamel. The center of the saucer has a fancy round design in gold and the entire inside of the cup is also gilded. Quite a fancy piece for this maker! The amount of work that went into that must have been incredilbe! The set is in great condition with some minor expected wear to the gilding and a glaze line to the udnerside of the cup that does not go through! They display perfectly! The saucer is unmarked but the cup is marked underneath with the crossed arrows in under glaze blue as shown and both ahve some old collectors marks to the underside. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. and the cup is 2.375 inches tall and 2.5 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
