Locre Superb Flowers Cachepot #1

This is a really nice early jadieniere / cache pot / flower pot / wine cooler made by La Courtille aka Locre aka Rue de la Fountaine au Roi in the 18th century during their early period judging by the style and the amazing flower paintings. Likely would have been a fruit cooler though having a pair of these and both just having the bottom piece probably means it was a flower pot or such. The piece is hand painted with a large floral arrangement to the front and back which are some of the nicest I have seen by them as well as smaller ones to the sides under the handles. The handles have a nice shape to them quite typical for this period though I am not sure what they are meant to show. Some sort of animal I guess. The handles as well as the edges are highlighted with gilding. The piece is in good condition with no damage but the gilding is worn and there are some stains as shown which could be made lighted with some chemicals but I don't think that is necessary. All part of the charm of this early stuff to me! The pot is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed torches or arrows as shown. The piece is about 5.75 inches tall and 7 inches in diameter with the handles sticking out a bit. I'll add the second one to the site as well if anyone would like a pair. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
