Bird Scene Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer set made by Ludwigsburg around 1765. The set is handpainted with some top quality bird scenes, a few small bugs and a nice gold trim. An added bonus is the raised floral design to the paste so you get two decorations in one when you buy this set :) Nice handle shape, too. The cup also has a butterfly on the inside bottom - a sure sign of quality. Both are marked with the CC mark under the crown in underglaze blue as well as impressed number like 77 and 71 (hard to make out!). The cup is 1.75 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5 inches in diameter. The set is in super condition with very little wear and some tiny chips to the footring of the cup.
