Bird Scene Cup w/ Fancy Trim

This is a great cup and saucer made by Ludwigsburg in the 18th century. These were painted by Höflich who was one of the better painters (Thanks Dr. Flach!!)! Both pieces are handpainted with a nice bird scene - each having two birds sitting in a tree branch - as well as some tiny flowers and leaves scattered throughout (mostly on tiny flaws in the paste) and a super fancy rim design including gold, blue and purple with small floral arrangements mixed in. Never seen one quite this fancy from them! The edge has a nice shape to it as well and the handle has a bow on the beginning with the end draped around the handle in gold and puce. The set is marked with the CC mark under the crown in underglaze blue as well as a purple HL as a painter's mark and some impressed numbers by the footring. The cup is 2.75 inches tall and has a diameter of 3 inches. and the saucer is just over 1 inch tall and 5.375 inches in diameter. It is in perfect condition. The bird scene is one of the best I have seen by them! Please email me for more information or photos.
