Bird Scene Cup

This is a great cup made by Ludwigsburg in the 18th century. It is hand painted with a nice bird scene to the front including two birds in a landscape surrounding and three bugs scattered over the rest of the area, a leaf painted over a firing flaw, a butterfly to the bottom inside and another leaf painted over a firing flaw on the inside. The outside rim has a basket weave design to it quite typical of Ludwigsburg. Nice handle shaped highlighted with gilding and a gold trim to the top edge. The cup is marked with the CC under a crown mark in under glaze blue as well as the usual marks as shown. It is just over 1.625 inches tall with a diameter of 2.875 inches and is in superb condition with just a touch of wear to the gold trim and a small flaw to the foot ring. It displays perfectly!
