Deer Scene Plate

This is a fun plate made by Ludwigsburg between 1759 and 1770. It is hand painted with an unsual scene of a doe standing by a lake with some trees in the back and mountains in the far distance or possibly low clouds. The scene has a superb puce and gold scroll design underneath it! The rest of the plate has a few small scattered flowers likely to hide imperfections in the paste. The rim has a basket weave design to it with some more flowers and a gold edge. The plate is marked with the CC mark under the crown in underglaze blue and an impressed RS and 1 by the footring. It is 1.25 inches tall and 9.625 inches in diameter. It is in great condition with a little wear to the gilding, a long scratch as well as some minor scratches to the scene, a chip to the foot ring and a knock to the footring that didn't quite turn into a chip as shown. It displays superbly! Please email me for more information or photos.
