Gentleman Farmer Figurine

This is a figurine made by Ludwigsburg in the 18th century. It is of a farmer standing on a nice base with some grasses all over it. He has one hand resting on a tree stump and the other raised near his face. That hand looks like it should be holding something but it never did. The closes match I could find to this piece was of a drinking farmer that had a glass in his hand but it was not an exact match and like I said there was never anything in that hand. It is a later piece for this maker so maybe they got a bit cheap or lazy. Still a nice example of their work and hey you can always add something to that hand to personalize it :) The figure is 4.75 inches tall, 1.75 inches wide and 1.75 inches deep. The figure displays nicely but has had an old restoration to his neck and hat which have discolored over time. Some tiny chips to the rim of the hat. An easy redo if need be or a superb learning example that displays very well as is. The figurine is marked with their under glaze blue interlaced CC double C mark as shown underneath. Please email me for more information or photos.
