Fun Scenic Lidded Sugar Dish

This is a great lidded sugar dish made by Ludwigsburg around 1760. The piece is really nicely hand painted and has the early puce scroll work under the scenes that Andreas Oettner liked to use but I think it was more likely painted by Johann Friedrich Kull. Either way the main piece is hand painted with a superb landscape scene to the front and the back in the usual Ludwigsburg manner with a building, rocks, some greenery and a lone figure. The lid also has two scenes to it in the same style with a nice pear fruit finial. Gold trim to the edge. These early dishes like this are becoming really hard to find especially the nice quality ones like this. The main body is marked with the CC mark under the crown in under glaze blue and quite a few impressed numbers and letters along the foot as shown. The entire dish with the lid in place is about 3.5 inches tall and 3.625 inches in diameter. It is in great condition except for the leaves of the finial on the lid are damaged quite a bit and a star line to the inside that is not visible from the outside! Neither takes away from the piece when on display at all. Please email me for more information or photos.
