Turkey Seller Figurine

This is a figurine made by Ludwigsburg. It was made between 1759 and 1770 and is marked with the crown over CC mark in underglaze blue as well as an incised letter y and a blue S. The figurine is of a street vendor selling poultry - he is holding a turkey under his left arm, some quail or such on his right hand and two birds are in the cage by his feet. A superbly modeled and painted piece! The figure is 6.25 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide and 2.375 inches deep. He displays very nicely but the neck of the turkey was broken and restored as was the cage both of which could use an update. One tiny glaze chip to the bottom base rim and a small chip to the puce bow in his pant leg. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $1249
