Polychrome Scenic Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by Ludwigsburg in about 1765. The set is hand painted with a really nice polychrome Watteau style scenes of a couple in a landscape background. Some small flowers as well and a gold trim. Great handle shape also highlighted with a bit of gilding. Both the cup & the saucer are marked with the under glaze blue CC under the crown mark as well as impressed 4 and I3 and red D:. under the cup and impressed 7 and 10 and red half moon (painters mark of Ihle) under the saucer. The cup is 2.5 inches tall and 2.5 inches in diameter. The saucer is 5.5 inches in diameter and 1.125 inches tall. The set is in good condition with a chip to the inside rim of the cup as shown. This set came with the teapot I have on this site and they match perfectly so they are likely from the same service. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $599
