Oettner Child's Cup

This is a superb and rare scenic cup made by Ludwigsburg around 1762. So a very early piece for them! The rare thing is that we can for sure say who painted this piece as it is definitely by the hand of the famous Andreas Philipp Oettner . The piece is handpainted with a top quality polychrome scene in the front including a gentleman playing a lute (I think) while sitting in a landscape surrounding. A few scattered small flowers fill the rest of the space as well as the inside. Gold trim to the edge. The cup marked with the CC mark under the crown in underglaze blue as well as a red 45 as a mark to keep items together during production - the saucer would have had the same number - something they only used during the first three years of production. The cup is of a rare size and I don't recall ever seeing a kid's cup by them before - it is 1.625 inches tall and 2.375 inches in diameter. It is in great condition with wear to the gold trim on the edge. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $599
