Serving Platter

This is a serving platter made by Ludwigsburg between 1759 and 1770 and is marked with the CC mark under the crown in underglaze blue. Impressed R2K as well as an I that is stained blue as well. Incised X. The dish is 1.75 inches tall, 8.5 inches deep and 11.5 inches wide. It is handpainted with flowers and has the basketweave rim called the Osier relief decor typical of that period. Gold trim to the outside edge. It is in perfect condition be it for the tiniest of wear to the reddish brown trim and some small flowers. It does have a lot of factory flaws that point toward this dish being made right at the beginning around 1759. It looks a bit like having the measles underneath mostly and has spots where there are small holes in the paste. Quite an interesting piece! Please email me for more information or photos.
