Scenic Plate w/Basketweave Rim #2

This is a nice soup plate made by Ludwigsburg between 1759 and 1770. It is hand painted with a superb scene in the center including two people as well as a rider on a horse, some buildings / ruins in the usual landscape surrounding. Under the scene there is a nice scroll work trim in different colors highlighted with gilding and a leaf garland under that. A small flower above the scene in the well of the plate and three more along the rim. The usual and very nice basket weave design to the paste along the rim and a gold trim to the edge. The plate is 1.75 inches tall and 9.125 inches in diameter. It is in great condition with a very minor touch of wear mainly to the top of the tree from stacking and along one spot of the gold trim on the edge. A flaw to the outside foot ring from what looks like a firing flaw. As nice as they come and it displays perfectly. The piece is marked with the CC mark under the crown in under glaze blue as well as the usual impressed / incised marks one finds on their wares. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $999
