Soldier Scene Cup & Saucer

This is a superb cup and saucer set made by Ludwigsburg around 1770. The set is handpainted with a very high quality scene including soldiers on horses on the cup and soldiers sitting on a table with tents behind them on the saucer. According to Dr. Flach this set was painted by Grossmann. Some small flowers along the rims and on the cup side with one on the inside of the cup. Nice basket weave trim to the rim with gilding to the edge. Nice handle shape, too. Both are marked with the CC mark with the cup also having the crown above that in underglaze blue with the usual impressed numbers and letters on sees on Ludwigsburg of this era. The cup is 2 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. The set is in great condition with one flat chip to the outside rim of the cup which is not that obvious and the set displays perfectly. Please email me for more information or photos.
