Superb Bird Scene Pot

This is a superb lidded coffee pot made by Ludwigsburg around 1765. The pot is hand painted with a large top quality bird scene as well as quite a few large butterflies and other bugs as shown. Nice spout with some raised design to it and gold trim and a basket weave design to the top rim. Typical handle shape also with a bit of gold trim. The bird scene includes four great birds sitting on branches of a broken tree. There is a oriole, a woodpecker, a blue tit I believe and some sort of finch. The lid also has a small bird scene to it as well as a few bugs, same relief trim to the edge and a pear finial. The pot is marked with the CC mark under the crown in under glaze blue as well as impressed numbers 3 and 19 as shown. The pot with the lid in place is 8.25 inches tall and has a diameter of 5 inches. The pot is in great condition with a tight crack across the bottom handle terminal as shown. The lid has had the finial off and and reglued back on with a little damage to the woodpecker in the scene and is missing the leaves and stem. Displays very well or can easily be repaired perfectly if need be. Please email me for more information or photos.
