Royal Scenic Cup

This is a superb coffee can / cup made by Ludwigsburg around 1765. The piece is handpainted with a top quality polychrome scene on the front including 5 putti, a lady scribe and two silhouettes along with a tree with three crowns in it. I have little doubt that it is an important piece and I have not seen this design before. Probably some sort of royal commission? Either way the quality of the painting is top and it also has some nice gold trim, two gold flowers and a nice handle shape highlighted with gilding. The cup marked with the CC mark under the crown in underglaze blue. The cup is 2.375 inches tall and in diameter. It is in great condition with some chips along the bottom edge as shown, a missed glaze spot in the same area and a tiny bit of gold wear. Talked to the boss about the piece (Dr. Flach) and he things the paper she is writing on though folded over could say "Vor euch ist die Krone or Fuer Euch ist die Krone" so either The crown is in front of you or For you is this crown. The couple in the Silhouettes seem to be Herzog Friedrich Eugen and Friedrike Dorothee Sophie. Please email me for more information or photos.
