Superb Scenic Teapot

This is a really nice teapot made by Ludwigsburg in about 1765. It is hand painted with a polychrome Watteau style scene to either side including a couple in a landscape background. Some small flowers and leaves scattered about as well and a gold trim to the top edge, handle and animal spout. Fruit finial to lid. The lid has a brown trim to the edge . it is from the right time period, the right design and fits perfectly but because of the different colored trim it could be a matched piece. Would be an easy fix with a bit of gilding if you ask me :) The pot is marked with the under glaze blue CC under the crown mark as well as a red painter's mark Da:. and an impressed 3 and I9. The pot is 3.875 inches tall, 7 inches from spout to handle and about 4.375 inches in diameter. The piece is in great condition with some damage to the leaves of the finial. There are three small chip looking spouts to the inside edge of the pot but there is glaze in them so that is from when it was made. A really nice example from a great maker! Please email me for more information or photos.
