Turkey & Chicken Figurine

This is a figurine made by Ludwigsburg in about 1770 after a model by Jean Jacques Louis. The peice has a turkey couple on a nice base with a rooster sitting on a tree stump above them. A rather hard to find model that is just plain fun and fits into my table design for turkey day :) The figure is marked with the crown over CC mark in underglaze blue as well as an incised N2. A superbly modeled and painted piece! The figure is 5.75 inches tall, 4 inches wide and 4 inches deep. Displays very nicely but there have been some restorations - the tail of the Tom was restored, the bottom of the back tail of the turkey hen, the rooster's tail ahs been worked on as has been one of his feet and the beak. Some leaves have had work done to them as has the beak of the turkey male. Very well done so it's not taking away from the piece! Comes from the collection of Dr. Flach which is a nice bonus. Please email me for more information or photos.
