Lady Figural Cane Handle

This is a rare cane handle made by Meissen in the mid 18th century around 1740-50. It is of a lady's head to the front of the handle with the rest having a pleasant shape to be able to use it as a proper cane. The head is nicely modeld and perfectly hand painted with the rest being white with a large floral arrangement to the top, a smaller one to the front side and a couple of small single flowers throughout. It's rare to find these early handles and it looks really stunning! The displays superbly with just a touch of wear to the top of her head and but has had some restoration work done to it of a ncie quality! I bought it as having had hairlines restored but it was definitely broken in one spot and possible another crack in another one which might have come from an old over decorated firing flaw around her neck. Really hard to tell. But it looks great and is a rare piece to find. It has a metal screw sticking out the bottom opening ready to be displayed or attached to a cane. The piece is 1.75 inches tall (without the metal screw) , 4.25 inches long and 1.125 inches wide. It is not visibly marked which is not unusual for these types of items. The inside hole diameter is 0.625 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
