Harbour Scene Tureen

This is a rare lidded tureen made by Meissen around 1745. it has four large handpainted harbor scnes on it - two each on the lid and bottom part. Fancy gold rim around the cartouches and basket weave relief plus gold trim. Nice Holzschnittblumen and bugs with shadows. Nice lady heads as handles with leaves growing out the top as the rest of the handle. This is one superb piece. It is in great condition with a small chip to underneath the lid, one to the ladies nose and one the bottom plus a few firing cracks. None of which are of any importance. Very little gold wear as well. The scnes are of the highest quality and just amazing. I tried to show the detail as much as I could but it was hard to get the pcitures right. The piece is unmarked except with an impressed number 26 but definitely Meissen. It is 11 inches tall, 12.5 inches wide and 7.625 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
