Putti w/Lantern Figurine

This is a great little figurine made by Meissen in about 1750. It is of a putti wearing a yellow cloth draped over his head while holding a lantern in front and standing on a nice base with scrolls around the edge highlighted in puce. A quiver filled with arrows to the back which probably means he is from the Amor / Cupid in disguise series. There are about 80 of these figures made by Kaendler / Acier all of cupids in different occupations. A nicely modeled figure that is hand painted to their usual high standards. The figurine is in great condition with a firing flaw between the cloth and shoulders near his neck as shown, a chip to the edge of the back base and a chip to the lantern that I believe would ahve been the door to the front of it. You can see th candle to the inside of the light. It displays really nicely and looks amazing on display. The bottom of the base is flat with a large air hole in it which is typical for their early figurines and the back of the figure is marked on the bottom edge of the cloth as shown with the under glaze blue crossed swords. A bit hard to see but it's there. The piece is 3.75 inches tall, 1.625 inches wide and 1.625 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
