Strawflower Tea Caddy Lid

This is a tea caddy / jar lid made by Meissen in the 18th century - pre 1740. It would fit one of the rectangular caddys with the flat top from before 1740. It's a very early lid for this type of design! The lid is hand painted with the famous strawflower design in under glaze blue with a nice pine cone finial to the center. It's got a ribbed design to the outer wall. The lid is in superb condition with some glaze skips from when it was made indicative to a very early piece! The glaze has worn on the inside from years of use. Unmarked which is typical for lids but there is not doubt it is by Meissen from the 18th century. The quality gives it away easily. The piece 1.125 inches tall and just over 1.375 inches in diameter. The inner diameter of the inside that would sit on top of the opening is a bit over 1.125 inches.
