Lidded Blue Onion Tankard

This is a fun lidded tankard made by Meissen in the mid 19th century. It is decorated with their famous blue onion / Zwiebelmuster design in under glaze blue all around and a blue trim around the edge of the lid with two flowers to the top and a nice strawberry finial. It looks great and the lidded versions are rather hard to find especially from this period. Handle to one side decorated with a blue design snd a relief design to the bottom terminal. Nice sized version as well! The piece is in perfect condition with the lid being a touch wiggly where it attached to the mounts. Couple of minor firing flaws where the glaze didn't take perfectly common to the these earlier pieces. The bottom part is marked underneath with the blue crossed swords mark (first choice) as well as the usual impressed marks, etc. one finds on Meissen of this period as shown. The entire tankard is 6.75 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
