Blue Onion Open Salt Dish

This is a fancy open salt dish / cellar / trencher made by Meissen in the mid 19th century. It has a really nice shape to it and is hand painted with the famous blue onion design and some blue trim to the edges. The blue is of a really nice color and it a nice early piece since it does not have the crossed swords in the stalk yet. A really nice looking piece! The dish is in perfect condition which is always a plus! It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords as well as a blue painter's number and an incised number but I cannot make it out as shown. The piece is 1.375 inches tall, 4.125 inches wide and 3 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $249
