African Fruit Seller Figurine

This is a figurine of an African lady made by Meissen in the 20th century. I imagine it as the African version of the Cris de Paris with her selling the fruit in her basket but since the piece has origins in the 18th century she is probably a servant girl bringing fruit to the table of her master. Either way it is a nicely modeled figurine hand painted perfectly. She is wearing a white hat, a long greenish robe with a yellow inside and a puce belt while standing on a typical base with two flowers to it and a bit of grass painted along the edge. The fruit basket is reticulated which is amazing, has a touch of gold trim to it and these cute little fruit inside. The figure is in perfect condition which is always a nice bonus with porcelain! She is 5.75 inches tall, 2.75 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep. The figure is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as well as the usual impressed numbers of the period as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
