Element of Air Figurine

This is a really nice figurine emblematic of the element of air made by Meissen in the mid 20th century. Not a rare figurine by any means but what is very rare about this piece is that it is in perfect condition. I have never seen that before. There is always something worng with these due to all the things sticking out everywhere. The piece is of a putto holding a bird in hisupper hand while trying to put another bird into the superbly reticulated cage using his other hand. A yellow and blue cloth covering him up a bit. A bellow on the base and a young oak tree in the back. The base has lots of scrolls all around highlighted with gilding. This figure is one from the series of elements. I also have water and earth but there is one more out there - fire. The figure is very well modeled and hand painted. It looks stunning on its own or even ncier in the set. The figurine is 5 inches tall, 5 inches wide and 3 inches deep. It is marked with the crossed swords mark underneath the base (first choice) as well as the usual impressed / incised marks and Germany in blue on the edge. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1499
