Large A-Kante Platter

This is a large porcelain plate / charger / serving dish made by Meissenin the 20th century during the Pfeiffer period of the late 1920s to the early 1930s. The decoration is from their A-Kante design with the piece having a nice edge shape. The piece is hand painted with a large polychrome floral arrangement to one side as well as a smaller arrangement and a single flower plus the cobalt blue and gold trim design to the rim that gives this service its name. A nice looking dish that is in perfect condition. Rare to find these more unusual pieces from this service! The platter is 1 inch tall and 12.25 inches in diameter and is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark (first choice) with the dot between the top as well as the usual impressed numbers and artist marks as shown. There is a bit of a mess around the mark because it came down as low as the foot rim and touched the kiln but that is not considered damage. I tried to show it in one of the pictures. When it sits on the table it still wobbles a tiny bit becaue the middle touches it before the foot ring. Minor and not really an issue. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
