Amazing Art Nouveau Nude Lady Plate

This is a very special plate / charger made by Meissen in the late 19th / early 20th century. I have never seen a piece by them with such a superbly painted beautiful nude lady on in! The piece is very much in the Art Nouveau / Jugendstil taste of the period and has a nice shape to it with a bit of gold trim to the edge and some gold leaf design in six areas along the rim. The center has an amazing scene of a nude flapper looking lady wearing a fancy hat and stockings with a while sitting on a chair with a small blackamoor in front of her holding up a mirror and another lady standing behind him in a fancy costume with a golden staff. A green ruin scene in the background The piece is mostly in the colors of a peacock, green, blue and yellow with lots of gold details I tried to show in the pictures as they stand out superbly at certain angles to the light. One of the nicest pieces I have ever come across by them and very unusual. Probably a special order piece. Looks like it was based on an Opera or play of the period. A stunning and elegant platter! It is larger than normal pieces as well being 13 inches in diameter and just under 1 inch tall. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords (first choice) as well as the usual impressed numbers from this period. The piece is in perfect condition - as nice a piece as you will ever find! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
