Art Nouveau Scenic Plate #2

This is a rare Art Nouveau / Jugendstil porcelain plate made by Meissen around 1900. Meissen missed the train a bit in terms of Art Nouveau / Jugendstil and thus their pieces are much harder to find than those of other makers of this period. What they did make were some superb pieces and this is a great example of it. The plate is hand painted with the superb scene covering the entire center which includes a house with some trees next to it, a path leading to the house through a fence and some nice flowers in the front. Superb landscape scene with some clouds above. A perfect piece for this period. The rim being simple and left in the white which makes this a super elegant plate! An amazing plate! This piece is in perfect condition. It is 1.125 inches tall and 10.625 inches in diameter so rather large. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords as well as the usual impressed marks as shown. I ahve a few other plates from this series with different designs if anyone wants to have a pair which would amazing on the wall! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
