Underglaze Blue Design Tea Caddy

This is a rare early tea caddy / jar made by Meissen in about 1735. A rare Asian / Chinese influenced design in under glaze blue. It is in great condition but the lid is missing its finial. Also I am not 100% that the lid is the original one as the color of the blue is different. It is the perfect fit and it has the right design to it and the blue didn't always come out the same but I think someone had a replacement made as this design is rare enough that I doubt it is a more modern Meissen piece if it is in fact not the original lid. It works and displays nicely. The caddy itself is perfect. The tea jar is very faintly marked underneath but all one sees is a tiny bit of blue. Definitely adn early Meissen piece. The piece is 4.25 inches tall including the lid, 2.75 inches wide and 1.875 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $699
