Fun Bell w/ Dragon

This is a really nice bell made by Meissen in the late 20th century. It is hand painted with Chinoiserie designs after Johann Gregorius Höroldt from the Schulz Codex in honor of his 300th birthday. Limited edition from 1996. The front has a harlequin running from a dog while the back has the super desirable dragon on it. All done in sepia tones with flesh toned face and hands. Doesn't come better than this except off coruse an original from the 18th century :) That's not going to happen anytime soon! Gold trim along the bottom edge and handle. The bell is in perfect condition. The clapper is really nice in this one - nicest I ahve seen on a bell of theirs. The bell is marked as shown with the under glaze blue crossed swords - first choice as well as Hoeroldt's initials and the usual imprssed and painted numbers one finds on Meissen of this period. It is 4.375 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $349
