Bird Scene Pipe

This is a porcelain pipe bowl made by Meissen in the late 19th century. It is handpainted with a very detailed scene of two birds in a landscape background. Looks like a hawk caught a green finch or something along those lines. Never seen a scene like that from Meissen :) A rare pipe shape by them as well. It is rare to find Meissen pipes and this one is marked on the bottom of the end that would get the wooden piece inserted into it with the crossed swords in underglaze blue. The pipe is in perfect condition. The bowl is 1.75 inches tall and has a top inner diameter just under 1 inch. The stem is 1.75 inches long and has an inner diameter of just under 0.5 inches. Price is $499
