Bird Scene Plate w/Chip

This is a plate made by Meissen in the mid to late 19th century. It is hand painted with a superb duck scene in the center including a male and two females in a nice landscape surrounding. The rim has one of their nicer fancy gold trims to it. This type of gold trim is more common on cobalt ground pieces they made. The edge is a bit wavy rather than just plain round which adds to the piece and there are five cute single bugs / insects painted along the rim as well. It looks stunning on display! The plate is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as well as the usual impressed numbers. It is about 1.125 inches tall and 8.375 inches in diameter. It displays nciely but has a chip at about 9 o'clock along the edge as shown. Could be restored fairly easily. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $99
