Bird Scene Spoon Rest

This is a superb deep dish made by Meissen in the mid 18th century around 1750. The piece is most likely a spoon rest or could also be a nut dish. It is hand painted with a superb bird scene in the center as well as four bugs / insects along the rim. The scene includes two birds sitting on branches with some greenery around them. The rim has a relief design to the paste and a gold trim to the edge. The piece is 1.375 inches tall, 5.75 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep. It is in superb condition with some wear to the gold trim. Marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords as well as the usual impressed number as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
