Blue Dragon Demitasse Single Saucer

This is a mocha or espresso coffee demitasse saucer made by Meissen in the 20th century. Could be used as a small bowl or trinket dish as well! The piece is decorated with the blue dragon design called the Hofdrachen in Germany . It comes in a variety of colors with the blue symbolizing power and strength . The saucer is hand painted with two blue and gold dragons as well as a fancy blue design in between and two phoenix birds in the center though they always look a bit like chicken to me :) The nicesly shaped edge has a bit of gold trim to it as well. The blue color on this pieces is fairly darkt with some nice dark spots throughout plus the gold highlights. The cup I ahve in this design is a lot lighter in color so they do not go together which is why I listed it separately. The piece is in perfect condition! It is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath (first quality) as well as the usual impressed and painted marks one expects from pieces of this period as shown. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 4.25 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $129
